To design a space that fits your needs, a customized range of services will be set out by your designer. Before any definite services are performed, our designers prefer to set up an Initial Consultation at the job site, to discuss your needs and desires. After this consultation, a blend of some of the services described below may be necessary to design your space.
(Drawings are the most common service needed by most clients. All of our designers hand draw floor plans, elevations, perspectives, and do renderings to scale to give you the best idea of what your space will really look like.)

During this consultation, your designer will meet you at your home or business and discuss what your goals are for the space. Our designers will ask you a variety of questions – who is to use the space, if there are any special needs to be met for children, pets, the elderly, or handicapped, etc. In some cases, our designers will ask to observe your family using your space (this is generally done for a kitchen design) so that they can make notes of what traffic patterns you are most comfortable with.

After identifying the traffic flow and what is necessary for space planning, your designer will ask you questions about colors, textures, patterns, etc., to determine what your taste or style is. It is helpful if you have magazine pictures put together, or even color swatches, to let your designer know what you do and do not prefer.

Your designer may request a certain time period – anywhere between a few days to a few weeks, depending on the complexity of the job – to put together a list of services that may be required to design your space properly – and provide you with an overall design concept.

If you are building or remodeling a home, you may need floor plans drawn by your designer indicating the placement of furniture, or of flooring products such as tile, stone, and wood.

All of our designers specialize in Tile and Stone design, and can provide detailed Hand-drawings that indicate the placement of materials and the overall design concept for an installer. Each of our designers has previously worked in the tile and stone industry, and therefore has an extensive list of resources that will aid them in providing you with the most exquisite selections and designs.

You may need a perspective or rendering completed to give you a better idea of the layout of furniture, or the color scheme being used by your designer. A Perspective is a three-dimensional drawing that will give you the closest representation to what your space will actually look like. A Rendering is a detailed drawing, either two- or three-dimensional that has been colored to show you how textures and colors are going to blend within a space.

After the Initial Consultation has been completed, you will generally have an additional consultation with your designer, where different ideas will be presented. Design ideas, drawings, and material selections will be presented to you at this time. Revisions to these ideas may be made, with the original fee applied.

Our designers will also accompany you shopping. If you want a designer to come with you to pick out cabinetry, paint colors, fixtures, furniture, etc. No drawings are required for this service; however, we do suggest that an Initial Consultation is done first, so that your designer knows what will work in the space and meet your needs.

Other services may be performed at the request of the client. The pricing for additional services will vary according to their type and complexity. Some other services may include traveling with the client to another state or country to select materials or to do shopping, or the hiring of more than one designer.

Hiring more than one designer is recommended for larger jobs, such as homes over 5,000 square feet, or for commercial jobs. When more than one designer is working on a job, the work will be performed at a quicker pace, and it will be easier for our designers to meet all of your needs and cover all aspects necessary.
